HORSES FOR SALE
The Roebuck and Bartlett families are the most well known and largest manufacturers of rocking horses in Australia. These horses will always be collectable and desirable.
The majority of horses for sale are fully restored Roebucks and the demand for these horses is very high as their manufacture stopped in 1972. They are collectable and will only increase in value as years go by. There will be horses coming onto the market in the coming months, so please contact me for updates as the situations can change fairly quickly and at times there is a waiting list.
From time to time Bartletts, the majority of which are found in Victoria, are available also.
Currently we have some Lou Peets merry-go-round horses in stock as well as "coin in the slot" kiddie's ride Roebucks and a coin in the slot Bartlett.
The standard dimensions for a standard Roebuck made after 1935 are as follows:
Height floor the top of head: 1055mm (41 1/2")
Height floor to saddle: 850mm (33 1/2")
Length of stand: 1220mm (48") |

Recent Purchases
Lizzy purchased in 2009 will be fully restored. Made by G and J Lines No 4 c 1910 (body length 28 inches). Found outside a skip bin in Lismore in pieces and temporarily and carefully assembled for the above photo to be taken. Her rebuild is underway. She is a bigger version of Carmen (body length 25 inches) but will look very similar when restored. Although in pieces she is relatively complete with original glass eyes, brass upholstery studs and a complete and original stand.
Above centre, "Pennsylvania" is a huge bow horse (body length 32 1/2 inches) also made by G and J Lines England c 1900 or earlier with the head turned to the right rein. Penn is in original condition with brass upholstery nails, rosettes, glass eyes and remnants of dappling still visable, plus a small piece of a red leather saddle and tan saddle flaps. The bow stand may have been replaced. Penn stands 1.35M high and 2.2M long. Once restored with tack he will stand almost 11 hands high, the size of a real pony.
